Kadıköy
A very easy and quick ride on the ferry and we find ourselves on the Asian continent of Istanbul and at the neighborhood of Kadıköy. Located by the shore, this vibrant neighborhood is known as a bustling market district with some very reputable restaurants that Turkish foodies go to, namely Çiya Sofrası, Halil Lahmacun, and Fazil Bey. Kadıköy is not touristy and offers a typical scene of everyday life in Istanbul that is very much worth exploring and experiencing. Hop onto the ferry to Kadıköy. Walk, eat, and drink kahve (Turkish coffee) along side the Istanbullus. Absorb the vibe and experience what it means to be an Istanbullu.
Most of the action from the fish market, butcher, fresh produce shops, cafes, and restaurants are concentrated on the pedestrianized street of Güneşlibahçe Sokak but many more sidewalk cafes and shops are to be found along the neighboring streets, parallel and perpendicular to Güneşlibahçe Sokak.

After exiting the ferry terminal in Kadıköy, take the Metro underpass to get to the other side of the street. You are not taking the Metro but the underpass is fast and easy to help you get to the other side of the busy main road.
